Patrick Kerivan. She died young in 1845, family was from Newton Upper Falls, MA also Waltham, MA. She had said she was niece of Gen'l John Sullivan, it would have to be a grand-niece for age to work out, Sullivan Sq. in Newton Upper Falls was named for John. We don't know which of the other brothers she was descended from (Benjamin, Daniel, James, Ebenezer). Has anyone run across a Catherine from the Newton MA area, family from Waltham, who would have been born around 1810 I figure? Thank you.

    1. A Question
    2. Robin M. Stinson
    3. Greetings, I have a few questions. Was Sharptown ever a part of another county other than Salem, Co.? In the Sharptown ME Church's Cemetery. has there been vandals that have destroyed any of the headstones? If so is there any documentation of who they were? As some of you know I am still looking for my 4th gr. grandfather Lorenzo Keen. His wife is Mary. They lived in Sharptown and I have a 1850 or so Census record of him and his wife and his children. I also have a copy of his OBIT. that only said he died of consumption nothing about where he was buried or about his family. I believe he was the town butcher (maybe that's how he got consumption?). I believe he died around 1865? Someone wrote me a long time ago and said they found his voter's registration info. This said he registered in the Sharptown area around 1842 or 46. I know this is not much to go on. There is a Lorenzo Keen in the Sharptown Cemetery . but this is the missing Lorenzo's grandchild. Is it also possible that they buried the people who died of consumption and things like that in a special cemetery? Were there people buried on there own property? Are there other cemetery's in the Sharptown area? I know the old original church on Jill Rd. had head stones but know one could read them. Maybe we was placed in there. Hope someone can assist me. I have been searching for him about 15 years or more. Thank You, Mrs. Robin M. Stinson

I do not have the details now. I am not sure exactly when it happened (within one year). If anyone has her OBIT could you please email me a copy of it. Mary Sanderlin was a distant relative of mine through my grand father Millard Holmes Leuallen. She was also my Principal at Deepwater School. Surnames: Williams, Halliday Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/oRB.2ACI/679.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi, My great-grandmother and her mother are very much mysteries to the family. I do not know who Emeline's immediate family really are and can only make educated guesses. She may very well have had a sister or a brother, etc., I am on a fishing expedition at this point. I KNOW this and that is that Emeline Williams was born 1815 and died 1881 from the inscription on her gravestone. She is buried next to her daughter in Riverview Cemetery, Port Ewen, Ulster Co., NY. However, there is no husband buried beside her. She may have been widowed at a young age or not properly married at all. Evidently, she requested to be buried by her daughter. My own mother did not know who she was until I was able to have verified that she was buried next to her daughter in the family burial plot. Someone did some research for me about census, gravestones, etc., and now I know for sure that she was born in New Jersey, but not exactly where. If I find out anything about Caroline Williams, I! will post it. My great-grandmother, Maria Estelle Williams, Emeline's daughter, never spoke about her family, was a fervent Baptist and Christian all her life. I suspect that she may have had a first marriage that turned out badly and women in the late 1800s had to flee such marriages as they had very few rights. Naturally, they tried to cover their trails by not talking about things. Also, although she could easily pass for White, I have a picture of her standing by her "Uncle Halliday", who is sitting in a chair. Frankly, if one uses his/her imagination and pictures him with a feather/feathered headress, instead of European style clothes, the Indian blood is obvious. I may have placed this picture on AncientFaces, but am not sure. Maybe you may see some family resemblance, try: http://www.ancientfaces.com If I did put a picture there it should be under "Williams" family and you should look under her name. Or, perhaps I may have put it under "Smith" since she married Lucius Darling Smith. As you are researching Caroline, look for first names, such as: Oscar and George (Maria Estelle Williams named her two sons these names and since they do not run in her hubby's family I suspect that they run in hers.) Sorry, I could not be more help, but I will check out the areas you mentioned.
