    1. Sarah Bradway in 1880 census
    2. Janet T. Smith
    3. I'm trying to identify the Sarah Bradway living with the family of Thomas M. Daisey on Paul Street in Gloucester City, NJ, in the 1880 census. Here is the listing: Thos. M. Daisey, M, M, W, 35, born DE, parents born DE, works cotton mill Amanda (Givens) Daisey, wife, F, M, W, 32, born NJ, father PA, mother NJ, keeps house Elisabeth Daisey, daughter, F, S, W, 10, born NJ, at school Samuel E. Daisey, son, M, S, W, 7, born NJ Ada Daisey, daughter, F, S, W, 6, born NJ Thomas M. Daisey, son, M, S, W, 2, born NJ Laura Daisey, daughter, F, S, W, 4 mo, born NJ Sah. A. Bradway, Board, F, S, W, 25, born NJ, parents born NJ, works cotton mill There is no direct connection between the Daiseys and the Bradways. The convoluted connection is this: Thomas Daisey's youngest brother, John Daisey, married Amy T. Tonkin, great-granddaughter of Israel Tonkin. Mary E. Tonkin, the granddaughter of Israel's brother, John, married John H. Bradway. The only thing I'm sure of is that Sarah Bradway's parents are not John and Mary (Tonkin) Bradway. Any ideas who Sarah's parents are? Janet T. Smith Gloucester City, NJ [email protected]

I have been working on this line for a long tilme. I just recently found Mathias on the 1850 Census in Delaware. I grew up in New Jersey. My daddy's sister lived in Bridgeport. We used to go across the Delaware river on a ferry boat to Delaware before they built the first bridge. I live in California now. I was in New Jersey in February. My sister passed away. I wanted to go to the cemeteries but it snowed really bad while I was there and my flight was canceled coming home. I did get to the little cemetery in Woodstown where my great, grandfather, Elisha Reed is buried. I had to wade through deep snow to get pictures. My older sister had a lot of pictures of the Reed family and Stanger family but not much on the Moore line. I did get a picture of my great aunt Amanda (Moore) Harper. She had lived in Delaware also. I don't know where Mathias and Mulford are burried. I figured Mathias probably is burried in Delaware. I think Mulford could be buried in the St. George Cemetery in Pennsgrove, N.J. Mulford was married to Anna Zane and a lot of Zane's are burried there. I think Mathias may have died around 1850. I saw a directory in New Castle County for 1851 showing shop keepers. He wasn't listed, but a couple of Moore's were. Maybe he worked for another Family member. Do you know anything about Mathias' first wife and children? On the 1850 census, Mathias was listed as McMoore. I think he could have been born in Scotland or perhaps his ancesters were. Do you have any information on that? I will have more questions. I will post again after I have a chance to digest the information you have given me. Thank you so much. Please answer soon. Em [email protected]

Am in touch with a researcher who is descendant of Mattson, living in Wisconsin. We have lots of stuff we have found and are looking for. Father of Mattson, John and Mary was John Moore, married to Ann Mattsson, dau of Israel Mattsson. Wamsley's Mattsson Genealogy lists Ann as predeceasing her father, but in fact, John Melcher in Wisconsin has found records reflecting that she became a ward of William Pedrick shortly after her father's death. Believe William to be the sister of her mother. Peter Craig, noted research on all the Swedish lines in this area, concurs that this may be a likely match. Write soon! Virginia Moore Dallas, TX

Surnames: MOORE; KEEN; ZANE; REED Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/oRB.2ACI/260.1 Message Board Post: I want to post an update in hopes of finding more information from someone out there working on this line. My Mathias was posted on the 1830 and 1840 Pilesgrove Twp., Salem Co., N.J. Census. In 1840 he was 50/60 (probably 52), with a wife age 50/60. He had 2 sons 15/20; 20/30 and 3 daughters 5/10; 10/15; 15/20. I don't know the name of this wife or any of the children. Mathias M. Moore married my ancestor, Hannah Keen 1845. Both resided in Woodstown, N.J. I found Mathias M. McMoore on the New Castle, Delaware Census for 1850. He was listedas a shop keeper / 900/ age 62 from Jersey. His wife was Hannah age 41; Gilbert Decan 11 (born 1839); John W. Moore 4; Mulford D. 3 (My ancestor). Hannah Keen was his second wife. The listing on the census raises some questions. Gilbert Decan was listed first, then John W. was listed with the last name Moore and then Mulford whom I know is Moore. Who is Gilbert Decan?? Mathias and Hannah's marriage record listed at the Gloucester County Historical Society, show her title as Mrs. That leads me to believe this is a second marriage for her as well. I have found a marriage record for Hannah Deacon and Elijah Keen 2/7/1833 in Salem Co., N.J.. I have also found a record for Hannah Deacon born abt 1808 (right time period) who is daughter of Gilbert Deacon born abt 1775 andc Sarah French forn 19 Apr, 1777. The relationship of Gilbert Decan on the 1850 census is unclear. Could he! be a brother of Hannah Keen????? In 1860, I can't find Mathias. I found his 2 sons, John W. and Mulford D. working on a farm in Salem County, N.J. I think he died between 1850 and 1860 probably in Delaware. I can't find his burial place or death record as of now. I don't know when Hannah, his wife died either. My g, grandfather, Mulford D. Moore is found on the Pilesgrove Twp., Salem County, N.J. Census with his wife Anna. His brother, John W. Moore is found on the Mannington Twp. , Salem County, N.J. Census with his wife Martha S. This Mathias M. Moore has a lot of desendents. Someone must be working on him. I want to know who his parents are and where they come from. I would love to know his date of death and burial place. Any information at all would be wonderful. This is a huge brick wall for me.
