Greetings Researchers, My ancestors are also French Immigrants who ended up in Paterson in 1890 from Alsace Lorraine. One difference - my gggf, Joseph Bender, arrived first in 1888 Rhode Island and worked in the silk mills in Providence first. A large silk strike there brought many workers down the coast to Paterson two years later. Something to keep in mind if you can't find a NYC entry for your Paterson French.
