Greetings, I'm at an impasse with my Benjamin Harrington (1828-1890) who was married and died in Hunterdon County, NJ. I don't know where he was born however. He was married to Aullie 'Oly' Hoffman in 1855 and their daughter Lydia Harrington (1866-1939) was married to a Silas Alpaugh. According to Benjamin's death certificate, he was the son of a 'John Hadington'. Benjamin seems to have appeared 'out of thin air'. I know that there was a Harrington family at West Milford during the 19th century. Benjamin shows up in the 1860 census index for Hunterdon County but not prior to that. However, there is a Benjamin Harrington listed for the 1850 census of Passaic County (when he would have been 22). I was wondering if anyone had any information on the family and if my Benjamin might be part of it. Thanks, Rick Novak
