Am searching for ancestry info on James M. WHITE born Mar 11,1828 in Paterson, NJ. He was the son of Michael WHITE born 1795 in Clogheen, Tipperary, Ireland and his wife Catherine. Do not know where Michael & Catherine married, or anything about Catherine. James and his parents moved to Kentucky while he was a child. Do not know where in Kentucky or if there were other children in the family. James moved to Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio to complete his education at the Lebanon and Delaware Academies. He was a school teacher and married Rachel Ann CHENOWETH on Aug. 25, 1856 in Pike County, Ohio. James enlisted in the Ohio 91st Infantry on July 1862 and left 1865 as a Captain. James and Rachel had 10 children all born in Ohio. Between 1872 and 1890 James and Rachel and some of their children moved to Burlington Junction, Nodaway County, Missouri where many of them are buried. I have been fortunate to receive much assistance from the CHENOWETH genealogists out there but nothing to help me with the WHITES!
