    3. Hello, Is anyone researching COULTER, ONEIL, CAVANAGH or GRENEN / GRANEN families in Paterson, Passaic Co. NJ? On 24 Apr 1879, Ellen O'NEILL (age 33, b.Paterson, widow of Stephen CAVANAGH, daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth O'NEILL b. Ire) married Samuel COULTER (age 29, b. England, mechanic, son of Michael and Mary b. Eng). Witnesses were Henry BOYLE and Mary CAVANAGH, minister/priest: Edward DULLEA. The 1860 census, 5th Ward, Paterson, Passaic Co. NJ showed COULTER family - Michael (34, blacksmith, b. Ireland), Mary (32, b. Ireland), Samuel (16, cot. operative, b. Ireland), James (12, att sch, b. Ireland), Mary (10, att sch, b. Ireland), Sarah (7, att sch, b. New Jersey), Martha (5, b. NJ), Elis (1, female, b. NJ). In the same family were Edwd GRANEN (32, laborer, b. Ireland), Sarah " (30, b. Ireland) and William GRENEN (9/12, b. NJ). This seems to be the family of the Samuel who married Ellen, even though some of the information doesn't match exactly. Samuel and Ellen COULTER had a son Michael, who died 3 Sep 1882 at age 3 months at same place he was born - 211 Marshall St, Paterson - and was buried in Sandy Hill. Did htey have other children? Ellen had a daughter from her first marriage to Stephen CAVANAGH, but I do not know what happened to her. A Michael COULTER, age 76, died at 526 Main St Paterson on 23 May 1896 and was buried in Cedar Lawn Cemetery - was he Samuel's father? Does anyone recognize this family?
