Jeff: write to State Registrar--Search Unit, NJ State Dept of Health, CN-360, Trenton, NJ 08625. The fee for just a certificate of death is $4.00. For additional fee, the dept. should search for you between the years 1929 and 1936. Give all the info you have, like full name, date of birth, where born, county or city of death, if you know it. Ask for the additional fee required for extra years searched (I think it is $2.00 extra for every year searched, but not sure). Also, there are pros available in NJ who will do a search for you...it is cheaper than a trip to NJ!!... But you might have to spend a bit of money initiallyto get started.
