I really didn't expect to find anything in them but as I glanced over them I found my Great Grandfather! I had no idea that he was a saloon owner. If anyone has any further information, I would be grateful.: Richard Cubby born Oct. 19, 1827 in Carlilse, Scotland , died March 2, 1900 in Paterson, NJ. He was married to Sarah Flannigan, born Jan.1, 1821 in England, Feb.6, 1887 in Paterson, NJ. They had nine children: John Cubby, born April 2, 1849 Christopher Cubby born Sept 17, 1850 Mary Cubby born June 20, 1853 Richard Cubby, born Dec. 5, 1857/ The saloon owner at 28 Market Street married to Eliza Sharpley James Cubby, born March 5, 1859 Margaret Cubby, born August 25, 1861 Sarah Cubby, born Nov.1, 1864 Francis Caroline Cubby, born Jan.16.1867 Joseph Cubby, born Aug 5, 1855 Richard's wife, Eliza Sharpley, was the daughter of Samuel Sharpley and Ellen Turner. Both came to Paterson from England To my knowlege all of the above mentioned are buried in Cedar Lawn cemetery in Paterson. Cubby seems to be a relatively rare surname.. I haven't found any information on them. What I have is from family records. Any info would be appreciated.
