Hi all! I am new to this list and heed help. This morning I received a death cert for my husband's grandmother, Mary Agnes McKane. We have been told that her maiden name was Brannon or Brennan and that she was born in NJ about May 1852 or 53, I cannot read the names on the death certificate!!!!! It says she went to high school and that she was born in a town whose name seems to begin with B, or maybe Br. I looked on a map and the only name that is short and begins with Br seems to be Browns, Passaic County. I also cannot read her father's last name, but it looks as if it begins with Br as well. He was from Ireland and her mother (no name at all) was from England. Might be Branin.. Can anyone offer advice or help? Guide me there please. City directories? If she went to high school there she might be on the 1860 and 1870 censuses. When she married about 1877, she and her husband moved to North Carolina. Also, what is the website address for Passaic County ? I can't believe it took me four tries to get the death certificate and now I can't read it!!!! Thanks Barbara Prior Jameson in Colorado
