I am trying to find a connection between the Stag and Folly family from Franklin Township, Bergen County, NJ, during the late 1700's - 1800's. Adam Folle (Folly), son of Willem and Antje Folle (Folly) was baptized at the Old Parmus Reformed Church on 16 June 1792. His godparents were Thomas and Hester Stag. I am particularly interested to find out if the Stags were related to Antje since I do not have her maiden name. Thank you, in advance, for any help you might offer. Jean

Dear Donna: Thanks for the clarification. Guess I just got lucky since I didn't ask for the page. However, it was wonderful to receive it. I wasn't sure about the location listing as I wasn't sure if Ponds was actually a place. I know Waldwick was New Prospect but again I was assuming they meant the church. I am sending for more records from the state so if I happen to get lucky again, I will post the information. Regards, Jean

Hello again Dutch Cousins: I am looking for information on Martha Osborne who married 1) William Frazee, 2) John Gould Aft. 1703. John Gould and Martha are my direct ancestors. Martha was the daughter of Stephen3 Osborne (Thomas2, Jeremy1) born 2/24/1632-33 in Ashford, England, and baptised at Christ Church in Ashford Parish, County Kent, England. He died ca. 1698 in Elizabeth Town. He married Sarah Stanborough, daughter of Josiah Stanborough and Frances Gransden. In Oak Ridge I found Col. John H. Stanborough (4/27/1779-10/13/1862) and his wife, Irana Lum and John D. Stanborough (11/4/1808-9/18/1896) and his wife Emily Norman (1/8/1818-9/18/1896) but nothing more. Does anyone know anything about these families? Kind regards, Myra E. Vreeland Lane
Please reply directly to Chris in Iowa as this person will not see the mail on the list as they are not a subscriber. Diane Ward Sives Is there someone out there who could either look up or tell me how to get a marriage record for a John Karis (or Kierys or whatever spelling) to Amelia Szeszkevicz or Siekiewicz which occurred in 1916 or 1917 in Passaic County? I appreciate the help. Chris in Iowa

Does any one know what cemetery(ies) were in use in the Paterson area ~ 1855? Specifically I am looking for a Houghton family burial plot from that period. Thank you for any help Betty Morris [email protected]
My computer crashed over the weekend, so I would like anyone who wrote to me this weekend to resend me their message as I lost my entire mail file, all my addresses, and, well, everything. Luckily for me I started running Family Tree Maker off of a zip disk, so I lost no data on my actual tree. Thanks, Vern
Hello, Is anyone researching COULTER, ONEIL, CAVANAGH or GRENEN / GRANEN families in Paterson, Passaic Co. NJ? On 24 Apr 1879, Ellen O'NEILL (age 33, b.Paterson, widow of Stephen CAVANAGH, daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth O'NEILL b. Ire) married Samuel COULTER (age 29, b. England, mechanic, son of Michael and Mary b. Eng). Witnesses were Henry BOYLE and Mary CAVANAGH, minister/priest: Edward DULLEA. The 1860 census, 5th Ward, Paterson, Passaic Co. NJ showed COULTER family - Michael (34, blacksmith, b. Ireland), Mary (32, b. Ireland), Samuel (16, cot. operative, b. Ireland), James (12, att sch, b. Ireland), Mary (10, att sch, b. Ireland), Sarah (7, att sch, b. New Jersey), Martha (5, b. NJ), Elis (1, female, b. NJ). In the same family were Edwd GRANEN (32, laborer, b. Ireland), Sarah " (30, b. Ireland) and William GRENEN (9/12, b. NJ). This seems to be the family of the Samuel who married Ellen, even though some of the information doesn't match exactly. Samuel and Ellen COULTER had a son Michael, who died 3 Sep 1882 at age 3 months at same place he was born - 211 Marshall St, Paterson - and was buried in Sandy Hill. Did htey have other children? Ellen had a daughter from her first marriage to Stephen CAVANAGH, but I do not know what happened to her. A Michael COULTER, age 76, died at 526 Main St Paterson on 23 May 1896 and was buried in Cedar Lawn Cemetery - was he Samuel's father? Does anyone recognize this family? Geralyn Wood Barry [email protected]

Am searching for ancestry info on James M. WHITE born Mar 11,1828 in Paterson, NJ. He was the son of Michael WHITE born 1795 in Clogheen, Tipperary, Ireland and his wife Catherine. Do not know where Michael & Catherine married, or anything about Catherine. James and his parents moved to Kentucky while he was a child. Do not know where in Kentucky or if there were other children in the family. James moved to Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio to complete his education at the Lebanon and Delaware Academies. He was a school teacher and married Rachel Ann CHENOWETH on Aug. 25, 1856 in Pike County, Ohio. James enlisted in the Ohio 91st Infantry on July 1862 and left 1865 as a Captain. James and Rachel had 10 children all born in Ohio. Between 1872 and 1890 James and Rachel and some of their children moved to Burlington Junction, Nodaway County, Missouri where many of them are buried. I have been fortunate to receive much assistance from the CHENOWETH genealogists out there but nothing to help me with the WHITES! Any help or suggestions on this WHITE family is greatly appreciated...Dale [email protected]
I can do lookups at The New Jersey State Library in Trenton. Census, Birth, Death, Marriage, Etc. Very reasonable. Let me know if I can help. Geoffrey Cooper [email protected]

Myra, I just received a note from Liz in Belleville, NJ who said her mother graduated from St. Mary's in 1933. The name of my grandmother is Anna Margret (Anderson) Birkhoff. She was married in 1944, so if she graduated before 1944 she would have been an Anderson. The name I gave is her legal name. Some records here in Virginia show Anne Margaret, but her legal name after Ellis Island was Anna Margret, and that's what's on her Social Security card. Thanks to everyone for their help!
