William Chambers, 1753-1807 (do not know place of birth), appears in the 1790 Census, Burlington County. Wife Rachel Scudder. Does anyone have anything further on this family? There was a son, Gilbert, who was born in NJ 1785. Died 1874 and buried in Jackson Township, Whitesville Methodist Cemetery. His first marriage- in 1805 - was to Elizabeth Iron, who died 1812 in Jackson. Are Elizabeth and Lucinda the children of Gilbert and Elizabeth? Gilbert's second wife was Jemima; they together had several children, among them Caleb and James S. Elizabeth from the first marriage married James Bennett, and they lived in Philadelphia. She died and was buried in Philadelphia. The daughter Lucinda married William Hatfield, and they had a son Harry. Have requested records from Whitesville Methodist Church, but no answer, and no returned mail. Is this an active church? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
