Dear Bev, My notes show a Cyrenius van Mater, son of William van Mater and Mary Hendrickson. This Cyrenius was born July 1, 1798 probably in Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ and died December 18, 1882 He married Ellen Hendrickson. I have no children listed but this could be the Cyrenius for whom you are looking.
