Co of Newark 1929 Ledger Ocean County I normally post to the Monmouth rootsweb, but I thought that this would pertain more to the Ocean County one: I picked up this old ledger dated 1929 at an auction. The agent was W.S. Cranmer. Listed below are policy holders of American Insurance Company of Newark, NJ that were W.S. Cranmer’s clients. I have the paperwork that goes with each one of the names below. It lists the policy number, what’s being insured and where, no Street address numbers, just where it’s situated. A few policies have a written diagram on the back of the policy. The amount of the policy and for what length of time. It looks like some of these might have been summer homes, although some of the policies were insuring chicken coops as well as houses. Here is an example of what information is on the policy: John Donahue - Detached - South Side Bay Avenue, Silverton, Ocean County, New Jersey - insured - $2400.00. Term June, 1929 to June 1932.
