Trying to find any information on a Henry Reed m. to Mercy Pettit, they had son Doughty Reed who married Phebe Spragg , the daughter of a John and Sarah Spragg. Doughty Reed b. 1783, Phebe b. 1780. Doughty Reed is known to have lived in Stafford Township, Monmouth County, now Ocean County. I believe Phebe's parents may have been John Spragg and Sarah Seaman, but this is just a hunch because Sarah's maiden name was not mentioned in the Reed Bible records.-Cheryl
