I want to thank everyone for their responses, both to the list and privately. The vote to "open" the gateway was nearly unanimous, and I have made the required entry on the "listowner" side of the gate. The next step was to have the GenConnect administrator open the gate from that side, but what I discovered is that poor Ocean was an orphan, adoptable, so I've taken that on, as well (hoping its not a huge amount of work). I believe that it is now set up to receive the messages automatically. We will watch, and if there are problems, discuss if we want to keep it that way. If anyone has questions, I'll be happy to go in search of answers. Barbara
