    3. William Chambers, 1753-1807 (do not know place of birth), appears in the 1790 Census, Burlington County. Wife Rachel Scudder. Does anyone have anything further on this family? There was a son, Gilbert, who was born in NJ 1785. Died 1874 and buried in Jackson Township, Whitesville Methodist Cemetery. His first marriage- in 1805 - was to Elizabeth Iron, who died 1812 in Jackson. Are Elizabeth and Lucinda the children of Gilbert and Elizabeth? Gilbert's second wife was Jemima; they together had several children, among them Caleb and James S. Elizabeth from the first marriage married James Bennett, and they lived in Philadelphia. She died and was buried in Philadelphia. The daughter Lucinda married William Hatfield, and they had a son Harry. Have requested records from Whitesville Methodist Church, but no answer, and no returned mail. Is this an active church? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I know that my great grandparents(George Runyon, Maria Corlies) lived in or very near Long Branch, NJ. befor they left for the Dakota Territory. 3. I have been advised that Professor Granville Hough (of CA) was working on the VAN NOTE line as part of the Brouwer-Bogardus research. Recent email from Ocean Co NJ states his work was given to the Ocean Co Gene. or Historical Soc (don't know which group) but was NOT indexed upon receipt. To best of my knowledge, it is in boxes stored with that group. Someone within geographic distance of the County should check out this source & determine if the years of work are indeed, laying in boxes at the site. Would be interested in joining a VAN NOTE email subscription group. Susan Bidwell Williams slw02@sprynet.com

    1. Dr. Scheinfeld (sp) circa 1920-1930 Atlantic City, NJ
    2. DW
    3. I am searching for descendants of a Dr. Sheinfeld, of whom we believe lived and practised in Atlantic City, New Jersey during the 1920's and 30's. Mrs. Sheinfeld was my grandmother's sister, both of their maiden names would have been Goldberg, and the would have come to North America from Odessa, Russia in the early 1900's. It is possible that Mrs. Sheinfeld's first name was either Dolly or Reva or Jennie. So much information is lost that we are unable to assertain the exact first name. My grandmother Monya (Manya) and her husband Joseph Waltuck settled in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. My grandmother went to visit her sister several times during the 20's and 30's and was apparently cured of some terrible ailment by Dr. Scheinfeld. My cousins remember my grandmother's visits to see her sister only because of the salt water toffee that she would bring to them when she returned. Here is my web page describing my families background (what little we know of it), please have a look and let me know if you see any connections to you and your family. http://mypage.direct.ca/d/dwdwone/index.html Thank you very much for any information or response you may have to this correspondence.
