Hello All, Does anyone have ANY information on the surname BEHMKE. They were in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas from about 1850-1950. They were also in many of the southern New Jersey Counties from about 1900-Present. Do you know them? Do you have any vital record info? Census index/schedules? I realize the chances are slim, but I have to ask anyway. I appreciate your help in advance, George W. Behmke

To everyone who answered by plea regarding my Aunt Alma's obit - thank you, thank you, thank you! I am so grateful to everyone for taking the time to help me. I thought that Aunt Margaret passed on, but it seems I'm ever so wrong. Over the past years, my cards were returned and then nothing. Everyone - please have a safe and happy holiday weekend. Best regards, Karen Isley Seiferth Florida
Good morning Listers, I am trying to find an obituary for Alma PEDERSEN WIKANDER. She was my great-aunt and I just found out that she passed away on March 3, 2000 in Lakewood, NJ. What newspaper would the notice be printed in and how can I get a copy of it? Alma and her last husband George did not have any children. She was close to nieces and nephews in Ocean County. Her nephew Robert SCHMIDT was probably living with her. Any help is really appreciated. Best regards, Karen Isley Seiferth Florida

Hi, My excursion to Greenwood was today. I was sure in for a surprise. The graveyard is extensive and on one side of the tombstone might say Cranmer, the other side could be Mathis, Ridgeway, Sprague, Pharo, Falkinburg. Conklin, Lamson, Truex, Corliss, Shinn, Hazelton and on an on. I managed to get a sight plan from the Ocean County Historical Society and will go back again in the next 2 weeks. I have saved all of your requests and will gladly send you by snail mail the cemetery records. I will photograph any headstones I can find on the master list. Please e-mail me if you wish me to continue with your line. Beth Cranmer In

DEAR LISTERS: As much as I love that 1895 map of NJ on the NET, it doesn't include township plots. Could someone tell me if STAFFORD TOWNSHIP included Warren Grove, or as I call it CORLISSTOWN, where my kin cut trees at the CORLISS SAWMILL? Have been looking at 1793, 1830,1840 and 1850 census data on my CORLIS and isolated STAFFORD township. I also see UNION occuring with some of the same given names, but later. Is this close? If you have a map or just know, I would appreciate a quick note. Thanks, your CORLIES,WEST,WING,FARNSWORTH, SOPER, WRIGHT, COUSIN in California, Lance Beeson
Hi, Folks, First, I hope I am on the correct list. I am hoping Atlantic City is in Ocean County. Second, my grandfather, a kind of clerk or cpa, I am not sure, died of a heart attack on November 12, 1946 at the SHELBURNE HOTEL. His name was Edward Clifford AYRES, Sr. 1) Would anyone have access to an obituary for him? 2) Can anyone send a scan and info on the Shelburne? I know nothing about it. I have tried surfing on Google, but mostly they had little except references to it existing and being grand. What was its address, for instance, wasn't even mentioned... Thanks for any help you can give me... Vincent E. Thanks for the great photo! I have not done much research on my Chadwick connection as yet. A letter I received from a cousin had info from a cemetery deed as follows: White Lawn Cemetery Point Pleasant, NJ Plot# 18, Lot 9ft by 12ft Bought - April 20, 1878 Signed John Arnold Witness - George D. Boardman George was the husband of Sarah E. Cahdwick. They were married in Point Pleasant at the home of Charles A. Johnson by William F. Brown on 13 - Feb - 1873. This info came from a hand written Certificate of marriage. It did not give the names of any parents or the ages of the couple. I found Sarah on the 1870 census in Point Pleasant, NJ at the home of John S. Dorcett, a farmer/boat builder, working as a domestic. Her future husband George was not in NJ at this time. They had their first child George W., 22 Aug 1875. I'd like to find out who is buried in plot 18 are you able to obtain this info for me? Researching BOARDMAN and CHADWICK in Point Pleasant, NJ. Thanks Again, Joe jphay@hotmail.com PS Bob Bennett in SC thanks for the CHADWICK info. I'll save it in case I find a connection. ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
Thank you all for the responses. Now that I know it exists can anyone tell me if there is contact person or organization who has records for the cemetery or have the names of those buried there been published in book form.
