I am researching Reed family members, some of who lived in the Ocean County area. On the Ocean County Historical society's page they list that they have acquired three Reed photos. Is anyone on the list close to the society that can check the names of the Reeds in that collection?-Cheryl _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Found out the exact date for the deed was 1868. Mannahawkin is the place. Does anyone out there have access for a lookup that can do one for me? Looks like my William B. Patterson left Monmouth County to me. Donna Patterson IttyBkShp@aol.com http://patterson.family.homepage.com
Hello list, I thought I would subscribe to this list and see if I might be on a wild goose chase or not. I have part (right side is cut off) of an excerpt from a deed. I am hoping someone can find the whole deed for me or more information on the Patterson surname in Ocean County. The deed was from the Ocean County Hall of Records. It regards Isaiah B. Crammer and wife and William B. Patterson. I was done in 1860? the writing is a bit cut off. I am also looking to see if William B. Patterson and his wife Caroline Stewart Patterson ended up in Ocean County in time for the 1870 census? William B. was born 1816, Caroline was born 1824. Any help would be appreciated immensely. He (William) has been our brick wall for quite a long time now. Sincerely, Donna Patterson IttyBkShp@aol.com http://patterson.family.homepage.com

Is the Zion Methodist Church on Rte. 528 an active church? I'd like to know if the church has burial records listing plot owners, etc. I have a known family member there and possibly others were buried in the plot without markers.-Cheryl _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. NJ Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NJ/Ocean/502 Surname: Evernham, Matthews, Britton, Hall, Cornelius, Phillips ------------------------- In Ocean County most of the Grants were sea captains which is why your James Grant was buried as Captain, not because of Civil War service. In the Ocean County Library in Toms River there is a book called 'Smith, Grant & Iron Families' by James W. Hook in which I am sure you will find your James Grant.
Hi! I am researching my Reed/Sragg Family and am posting this on Burlington, Monmouth, and Ocean lists due to the changes in county lines over the years. My 4th grgrandfather, Doughty Reed m. Phebe Spragg on March 5, 1804 in Monmouth county. He was b. Feb. 24, 1783, a son of Henry and Mercy Reed, according to Bible records, and I am assuming but can't prove that his parents were Henry Reed/Mercy Pettit m. Nov. 8, 1780 in Burlington county. Phebe Spragg b. Feb. 9, 1780, was according to Bible records, the daughter of John and Sarah Spragg. The only marriage that I've found that would fit time frame and area (Stafford Twp., Monmouth..later Ocean county0 would be that of John Sprague/Spragg and Sarah Seaman. I don't have an exact date for their marriage but am basing it to be in the early 1770s from other researchers info giving birthdates of other children for this couple: Elizabeth in 1774 and Timothy in 1777. Also, in the Dockets of Silas Crane abstracts, (Stafford Township, Monmouth)found in Genealogical Magazine of NJ, Doughty Reed and Timothy Spragg are mentioned as well as members of the Seaman family, so I think I am on the right track here. Does anyone have information on any of these families? My ancestor Dought reed raised his family in the New Hanover Township, Burlington area. Thanks- Cheryl _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. My grandfather Willard Bowker b. 1892, was born at Maurice River, NJ and next location I have for him and his wife Grace E. Jones is Riverside, NJ in 1912 or 1913. I believe both locations are in Ocean County, NJ. Can't find Willard's parents names, only have hearsay of George and Kate (Adams) Bowker. Birth cert. does not list parents. I have just received my Grandfather's Death Certificate and am curious about the address. There had been a dis- agreement years ago and our family had lost touch with him. (Foolish lessons we learn later in life) BERMANN, Paul 27 Baylor Street Brook Forest So. Toms River, N.J. At first I thought Brook Forest may be a Developement...but now I am wondering if it could have been a nursing home or institution of some kind. He was 89 yrs. and married to Marion (not my GMother). Anyone familiar with this address? Thanks, Helene
Does anyone know the address of Gary Phillips, the person who does the Whitesville website. Someone wants to contact him and the site is not accessible at the moment. Marie Wright Thanks.
Hi, My name is Beverly and I'm trying to get some roots for my older sister. I found a John Weston in the SSDI who was born the same year as my sister's father. It said he was born Nov. 9,1896 and died Sept. 1976. The last residence was Lakehurst, Ocean County NJ. I was wondering if anyone could look up an obituary for him and see if it listed his parents whom were James and Doris Weston, then I would know if I had the right John Weston. I would appreaciate any information and I thank you in advance. Beverly grandma@blast.net
