Can anyone identify this family? As I was going through the Morris Deed Book R2, p 266 I started reading this deed. Land is sold by descendants of Peter Doremus on either 21 or 31 January 1825 and describes several lots of land in Pequanock. One of the lots described was purchased from the following people. Why would these people own the same land? Thomas J. Doremus Cornelius Vanness Jacob Vanness Hermanus Courter land containing 12 acres. How are these 4 men related? It is described as in the Little Meadow & Pompton Meadow. I am beginning to doubt the notes I wrote down. The last names below might be Doremus instead of Jacobus. Grantors are Nancy Doremus Peter P. & Margaret Jacobus James A. & Getty Jacobus Henry & Elizabeth Mead James & Margaret Collard James A. & Catherine Vanduyne Ann Jacobus wife of Cornelius wife of Cornelius Jacobus Sof?fannah Doremus Judy Ullman
