There is one deed I could not locate X2, p466 between Henry Mourison and Abraham J. Jacobus in 1829. The following theories can be debated. Mouris Mourison purchased land in 1702 in Montville. I have not seen the deed but this has been described in several books. There were two men who owned property in Montville, Pequanock, Morris County in early tax records. They were Hendrick Mourison d abt 1787 and Peter Mourison d abt 1794. Peter Mourison was probably the Loyalist who had his property sold in 1780 in Essex County. His son Jacob Mourison payed taxes on property after 1780 in Morris County. After Peter's death in 1794 the property is divided between Jacob Mourison, Jacob Mourison, Jr, and Francis Mourison m Mercy Sanders. There is a Derrick Mourison in this family who lived in Horseneck but I have not figured out the relationship between Derrick and Peter Mourison. The other children of Peter Mourison and Maritje Speer dgt of Frans Speer and Dierckeje Cornelise VanHouten were Maytje b 1739 m Nicholas Garrarandt Gerientje Mourison m Barnabus Cook Mouris "Moses" J. Mourison. Hendrick Mourison d abt 1787 and had the following children Mary m Peter Frederick Mouris Mourison d abt 1819-1820 Henry Mourison b 1752 d 1835 m Caty Alyea b bef 1757 d aft 1846 Jacob Mourison d abt 1790 There are other Mourison families in Morris County. One that lived on Hardiston, Sussex and Jefferson, Morris border. One group that might be part of the Morris/Sussex family. One that lived in the Hanover area of Morris County and Isaac from this family ends up in OH. 1804 Deed Book I, p 260 22 Mar 1804 William VanGeison and Elizabeth, his wife, of Pequanock Jacob J.
