Some information for all those individuals interested in the KING surname in Morris and Warren County. I have struggled with the question of the marriage of John C King and Elizabeth King (married March 4, 1824) for several years. I believe that John C King was the son of David King and Nancy Ford, but have not found positive proof of this. I finally found a death certificate for Elizabeth King which states Name: -Elizabeth King Cause of death - "Exhaustion". Age - 77 years,3 months, 20 days Place of birth - Morris County, New Jersey Place of Death - Adams St., Belvidere, Warren County, NJ Father's name - Jesse King Mother's Name - Hannah King Date of Death - 12 September, 1883 Length of sickness - months Place of burial - Belvidere Cemetary If my assumptions are true, John C King, son of David King and Nancy (Ford) King, married Elizabeth King, daughter of Jesse King and Hannah (Ford) King. The interesting thing here is that Jesse King and David King are brothers, and Hannah Ford and Nancy Ford are sisters, so.......That means Elizabeth King and David King are 1st cousins, in fact, double 1st cousins. This can really screw up a family tree...
