Posted on: Morris County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NJ/Morris/12014 Surname: Logan, Lewis, Van Vorhees, Hampton, Hull, Lanterman, Rush, Loree, Lindley, Mcullough, Dille, Leonard, Cooper ------------------------- HELP!!! I have hit the brick wall in trying to track the early Mendham Twp., Morris County, New Jersey records for William Logan. He was married to Margaret Lewis, daughter of Levi Lewis, but there is a possibility she was his second wife. He would have settled in Morris County no later that 1771 and possibly earlier. He had the following children: John m. Hannah Hampton Mary M. Henry Hull Thomas m. Elizabeth Hampton Levi m. Mary Van Vorhees Margaret m. John Loree and after his death, Benjamin Rush Sarah m. Benjamin Lindley Elizabeth m. Peter Lanterman Jane m. Stephen Cooper Anna m. Israel Lindley Rachel m. Stephen Dille Eunice m. John McCullough Phoebe m. Samuel Leonard I have been able to track all twelve children but have been unable to find where this family came from. Family lore states they came from Scotland in 1769 but there are several conflicts with that report. They may have been related to other Logans in Mendham Twp. who reportedly came from Paisley, Scotland. We are leaving for Scotland in two months and would like to visit the places this family originated from but have drawn a blank. The entire family left New Jersey between 1793 and 1797 and settled in Washington County, Pennsylvania where both parents died in 1803. The children then mostly dispersed to Ohio in Richland, Knox, Morrow and Trumbull/Mahoning County. I would be happy to share information with anyone. Thanks in advance for ANY help you can provide. Mike in Toledo
Mike, Do you have anymore information on Henry HULL and John MCCULLOUGH? I have both these surnames in my line, but neither of these first names. I was wondering if you had their parents, etc, so I could see if they tied into my tree. Joann My genealogy is based on information received from family recollections, interviews, phone calls, letters, mailing lists, books internet sites and the hard work of others. My info. should only be used as a guide and any information should be confirmed by you. This is a work in progress and any corrections or additions are greatly appreciated. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Roberts <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, April 17, 2001 8:50 PM Subject: [NJMORRIS] William Logan and Margaret Lewis > Posted on: Morris County Queries > Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NJ/Morris/12014 > > Surname: Logan, Lewis, Van Vorhees, Hampton, Hull, Lanterman, Rush, Loree, > Lindley, Mcullough, Dille, Leonard, Cooper > ------------------------- > > HELP!!!
