    3. Hello, I just joined the list. I think my wife's Middleswarth and Reed ancestors were in Morris County between 1768 and 1792. I am trying to find the church attended by John Middleswarth(b. 1745) and perhaps his father, Abraham Van Middleswarth(b. 1723). They began in the DRC at Raritan, NJ. In 1768, they helped found a Presbyterian Church at Red Hill(Tinicum), Bucks Co, PA. John later server in the Quartermaster Corps of the NJ Militia in the Revolutionary War, so he perhaps moved back to NJ after he was in the PA church in 1768. John married Martha REED about 1782, had six children, including Abraham and Ner, and wound up in Snyder Co, PA in 1792. I found several articles by a Mr. Woolever, posted on the USGenWeb Archives. They concerned the Presbyterian churches at Schooley's Mountain and Pleasant Grove. But those churches were founded after John Middleswarth left NJ. I saw somewhere that John Middleswarth was a leading citizen of Pleasant Grove. So, the big question is: "In the years 1768 to 1792, which Presbyterian churches would I look at for the birth records of his children?" Was there any particular Presbyterian church that preceded those at Schooley's Mountain and Pleasant Grove? Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have. Bruce Fosnocht
