    3. Dan, There is a "History of Morris County, New Jersey," but not by Snell. It was originally published by W.W. Munsell in 1882, and I have the 1967 reprint issued by the Morris County Historical Society. It has an index, but it is not an every-name index. It is described as a collaboration of 12 authors, with Edmund Drake Halsey (1840-1896) often being listed in older catalog records as the primary author. --Noelle, in Ohio At 11:45 AM 4/13/01 -0700, Dan Conner wrote: >I've seen where Snell has a history of Hunterdon & Somerset Counties, >and History of Sussex & Warren Co.'s. > >Question: Does Snell also have a history of Morris County? > >Thank you , >Dan C. > >_________________________________________________________________ >Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com > > > ******************************************************** Noelle Van Pulis (aka Mrs. E. 3. A site new to me has started to put OCR scanned versions of county books on line. So far only Wm Shaw's book on Essex seems to be up, but under Morris County the Munsell book is listed. (I tried to call it up, but it didn't come, but it may be about to come out.) One warning on these OCR books: OCR has its own set of errors, rather distinct from those of a type-setter's misreading of handwriting or a typing mistake. Be aware of them in using this material -- plain becomes plam. That's ok with there, but if Nathaniel R becomes Nathaniel B or 1647 becomes 1641, there could be a problem. http://216.181.70.227/NJ/NewJersey.asp Noelle Van Pulis wrote: > Dan, > > There is a "History of Morris County, New Jersey," but not by Snell.
