    1. Re: [NJMORRIS] Morgans in Morris County
    2. My Grandfather's first wife was Hannah ("Annie") Morgan whose parents were Jacob and Sarah (Reed) Morgan. Jacob and Sarah were married July 6, 1850 in Bedminster twp., Somerset, New Jersey. My Grandfather married their daughter Hannah on 03 Feb 1872 in Starport, New Jersey. (Another Source has the marriage place written as "Waterloo.") The bride's home location was listed as High Bridge, Warren Co. Hannah was born in 1853. My Grandfather was Cornelius ("Corny") G. Hamler, b. 1850 Sussex County, NJ. Hannah/Annie died in the 1890's and my Grandfather married Augusta ("Gussie") Carpenter ca 1902. She was also from Sussex County, but when her sister bought the Carpenter Maternity Home in 1907, the Carpenter family moved to Morris County where my father was born in 1908. My Grandmother's sister Orlinda Carpenter ("Mama Linnie") became well-known in Wharton as a maternity nurse. It was an early example of a "Maternity home" where women did not have their babies at home but went to a "hospital"-of-sorts where theirs and their babies needs were well taken care of. I would love to know more about Hannah ("Annie") (Morgan) Hamler if anyone has the information. Kathleen LPurch6636@aol.com I am researching the Morgans that were in Morris County in 1850. Does anyone have any connection or information on any Morgans that were from Morris County or surrounding counties. There was an Andrew Morgan who lived in Hanover Twp. age 18 living with some family and also a Henry Morgan age 19 living there in 1850 living with some family. There was also a Joseph Morgan age 25 in Rockaway Twp., Morris County, living with some family. I would like to find out who their parents were. There also was a Daniel Morgan age 13 in the 1850 Rockaway Twp., Morris Co. census living with some family. A Mariah Morgan age 16 in the 1850 Rockaway Twp.,, living with some family and a Margaret Morgan in the 1850 Rockaway Twp., living with some family. All of these children were living with some families that were not their own I am wondering if they were all brothers and sisters and if something happened to their parents. The reason I am researching in Morris County, is that there was a Theresa Morgan born abt. 1832 in Parsippany, New Jersey. She married Richard Briggs and were living in Brown Co., Illinois in the 1850 census. Barbara
