Hello I am looking for any info on John Johnson and his wife Elizabeth nee Merrick. I am looking for Their parents and any Brothers or sisters. John and Elizabeth were both born early 1800's and on the 1880 census that I found they were living in Passaic County but states that they were born in New York. All I know is They had Four children William Johnson (B:abt. 1834 in NY D; after 1880 NJ), Rebecca Johnson ( B: abt. 1841 Died abt. 1879), John Johnson (B: abt. 1843 in NewFoundland, NJ((Listed on Vernon Death Records))D:August 0, 185 in Vernon , NJ at age 13), and David Johnson B: abt.1844. William was married twice First to a Mary Ann Decker, then to Margaret Fichter d/o Gabriel Fichter and Eliza Ware. Rebecca married Issac Babcock around 1860/1861(dates were differnt in sources) They both lived in Wawayanda of Amity NY. David married Mary babcock d/o James and Phebe BabcockDec. 18, 1870 in Warwick NY I have traced this family thru Orange County to Sussex COunty then to Morris and Passaic COunty I am now stuck . I can not find any other info on John Johnson or his wife Elizabeth Merrick. I did find a John Johnson and Elizabeth Merrick in Salem county but I have not made the connection as to if they are the Same people. The only child that matches is William and I could not understand how the move would have been made by John and Elizabeth due to all the children seem to be born up in NY or close to the border of Warwick , NY.
