Ed Lenik, Noted Archaeologist and Author, will speak at the Montville Township Historical Society Program, March 8 (Monday), 7:30 p.m. in the Pio Costa Auditorium, Montville Township Library, 90 Horseneck, Montville on �Indian Sites and Archaeology in the Ramapos�. Ed has surveyed and dug many sites in the area, and has concentrated on the Highlands of northern New Jersey and southern New York. He has also written many books on archealogy, petroglyphs and iron mines. Ed Lenik is president of Sheffield Archaelogical Consultants of Bulter NJ, and is also the author of many books. He has written � Indians in the Ramapos: Survival, Persistence & Presence�, �Iron Mine Trails� �Max Schrabisch � Rockshelter Archaeologist�, and �The Archaeology of Wayne�. His latest book �Picture Rocks: American Indian Rock Art in the Northeast Woodlands� was just published in 2003. Ed is a past president of the New Jersey Highlands Historical Society and continues to be very involved in the organization, which collects, preserves and interprets the cultural history of the Highlands. He is a member of the American Rock Art Research Association and the Eastern States Rock Art Research Association and past president of the Archaeological Society of New Jersey and the Eastern States Archaeological Federation. This program is presented at Montville Township Historical Society�s March 8 program, 7:30 p.m. in the Pio Costa Auditorium, Montville Township Library, 90 Horseneck. All are invited to come.
