Does anyone have access to Ancestry.com's US Immigration Collection? Could SKS do a lookup for me? I have been unable to find my great-grandfather's passenger list. His name was Michael C. DAY, he came from Ireland in 1882, possibly from County Kerry. His parents were Patrick DAY and Mary O'DEA. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Karen L. Day
Karen- I have access, but I do not see Michael Day arriving in 1882, or in 1883. Are you certain of the date? How old was he when he arrived? Did he come with his parents? I am having a problem with my husband's gr-grandfather Jacob Schnoor who supposedly landed in America on April 16, 1882. Such a precise date, given to us by his daughter-in-law. We haven't found him coming into NY, even though we are fairly sure that he landed in New York or else somewhere on the New Jersey coast. He settled near the Sandy Hook area of New Jersey, right on the water. A family member heard a family "story" that he sailed his own boat over from Germany. Somehow I don't think so.... Maybe it is something with 1882? Good luck! Linda Schnoor ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karen L.
