    1. [NJMORRIS] Early settlers of 'German Valley'
    2. Greetings, I have many ancestors who were early settlers of what was known as 'German Valley' in Washington TWP prior to World War I (now frequently referred to as Long Valley). Among these ancestors are the Alpaughs, Apgars, Duffords, Trimmers, Wacks, Neighbor/Nachbars, Hoffmans, Philhowers, Cregars, Hartrums, and Fox/Fuchs. I am currently trying to learn more about my ancestor William Weyer (aka Wire,Wier,Weir) who was born c1800 and died in 1845 shortly after removing to Ohio. I suspect he is a descendant of a Conrad Wire who had a will recorded at Easton, PA in the late 18th century. One or more of Conrad's children reportedly removed to the German Valley during the late 18th century. I'd love to compare notes with anyone researching the Wire/Weyer family or any of the other families mentioned. Regards, Rick Novak
