    2. Can someone pleae do an obituary lookup for me please? For BLANCHE ZELESKI, died JULY 1984, I don't have a day, sorry. Last known residence was Morristown, Morris Co., NJ. I think her maiden name may have been BOGDAN, her husbands name was Stanley, who preceded her in death in 1972. I know she had 2 daughters, I need all the details from the obituary, including the name of the paper, & date. I would appreciate this very much. TIA. Cheryl

    1. [NJMORRIS] BROWN Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of A. A. BROWN taken at the Lacey Studio in Morristown, New Jersey. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's when Mr. BROWN was in his 50's. I am hoping to find someone from his family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    1. [NJMORRIS] MORS/MORSS/MORS/MOSS
    2. Karen L. Day
    3. Does anyone have any info on the MORSE family of West Milford, Passaic Co., NJ? Are there more transcriptions on the Morsetown Cemetery, West Milford, Passaic Co., NJ beside the 4 plots in the Passaic Co. cemetery book, "Written in Stone"? There are a few of us trying to save the Manning Ave. Cemetery in Butler, Morris Co., NJ. We made a website ( http://www.geocities.com/manningcemetery/ ) to preserve the headstone info because there is so much vandalizes there. I've been doing research on my family for about 5/6 years, the MORSEs. So I have the gencom file from the Morse Society and narrowed my search down to 4 Aaron MORSEs. We have a plot for Aaron MOSS, but the headstone is weathered and we can't read it. I have the following Aaron's... Aaron Morse b. 1797, Pompton, Passaic Co., NJ; son of Benjamin Morse Aaron Morse b. 1849, West Milford, Passaic Co., NJ; son of Joseph B. Morse (his father is the above Benjamin), brother of above Aaron Aaron Morse b. 1875, West Milford, Passaic Co., NJ; son of George Morse, who is son of Benjamin Morse...his father is the above Benjamin Morse Aaron Morse b. 1773, Hardyston, Sussex Co., NJ; son of Joseph Morse, his father is the above Benjamin Morse They are all related and lived in Hardyston, Sussex Co.>Pompton, Passaic Co.>West Milford, Passaic Co. I'm trying to figure out which of the above Aaron's is buried in the Manning Ave. Cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone could forward it to the Sussex Co., NJ list, that would be great. Karen L. 1. [NJMORRIS] BOND-CAIRNS-COOK-MISENER/MIZNER Mystery
    2. Lawrence and Sarah (Cook) MISENER/MIZNER had two sons, Lansing Bond (c1794) and Henry Caldwell (1795) in Mendham, Morris Co., NJ. As Sarah's father was Daniel and the father of Lawrence is unknown, the basis for the naming of the two sons is a mystery. We know that the sons were born in Mendham, therefore the source of the names should be nearby. Further we know that Henry Caldwell MIZNER m. c1822 vic Geneva, NY Mary Stevenson CAIRNS who was born Mary Stevenson BOND, d/o Richard BOND, and was adopted by her stepfather, Caldwell CAIRNS. This relationship does not directly impact on Henry Caldwell, unless the CAIRNS and BONDs were friends/relatives of the MISENER/MIZNER-COOKs while in Mendham. Is anyone aware of a BOND-CAIRNS-COOK-MISENER/MIZNER connection? Best regards, Hugh .

    1. [NJMORRIS] Is a list adoptable or non-existent? or learning about being a listowner
    2. Diane Ward Sives
    3. Here are the steps to use to find out the duties of a listowner and to find out if 'your' surname list is adoptable or non-existent and how to adopt the list or have it created with you being the listowner I sent out a 2nd message. Let me know if you have any problems with the steps that I gave on how to find a particular mailing list. I think I put in all the steps but I might have forgotten a step or two. You should be able to find any list that you are looking for; if it exists. If it does not; then you can request a mailing list; if you are willing or can find someone willing to be the listowner. go to this URL to find the duties of a listowner to see if you feel you can do it. http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/listadmins/duties.html then if you feel you can handle being a listowner go to this URL and see if the list is adoptable or non-existent. If it is adoptable then you can adopt it; or if it is non-existent then you can request to have it created. To find out if it is adoptable go to this URL: http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/adoptable/ If it does not exist; then go to this URL and you can request the creation of the list. http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listrequest.pl -- Diane Ward Sives

    1. [NJMORRIS] Re: Surname lists, archives and message boards
    2. Diane Ward Sives
    3. I have had this question posed to me so I decided to reply to the lists to help others find surname lists. To find a surname list go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/ Then look for the section that is called: Mailing Lists then click on Surname List Finder and type in any surname you desire If you would like to browse the lists or look for variant spellings of your surname: click on Index (Browse all lists) Look for the Surname section then click on a surname letter and look for other variant spellings. For example: If one was looking for Nichols The following lists are created Nickel Nickels Nickell Nickles Nichol Nichols Nicholl Nicholls If this were a surname I was interested in; I would sign up for all of these lists and also search the archives for these lists too. For the Archives; look under Mailing lists again: Click on Interactive Lists Type in the name of a valid list (one listed in the above steps) or click on Threaded Archives and type in the name of a valid list. This shows the messages by month and year and tells you how many messages there were in that month and year. Let me know if I can be of any other help in finding things. Also, in your search don't forget the message boards. There are message boards on Ancestry.com (accessible from either the http://www.Rootsweb.com homepage or on http://www.Ancestry.com homepage there are also surname boards at genealogy.com http://genforum.genealogy.com/ Diane Ward Sives
