    3. A complete listing of the NJ State Census can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~njmorris/mccensus/njstate.htm This will tell you what records are available for each year. The State Archives has the State census microfilm for sale: http://www.state.nj.us/state/darm/links/pdf/micrordr.pdf Unfortunately it's $25 per reel and as had previously been mentioned, there is no index. I have ancestors, Crammers, buried in that cemetery and I've always assumed they went to church there around the 1800s to the 1850s.I found that someone had the church records at their house in the 1930s and then I got information that the church records were kept at the church. The church was used by both the Baptist and the Presbyterians until the Presbyterians built there church in about the 1850s, which building was next door. McCaffrey Lane, which serves as the main entrance to the park, was created in 1767 by Samuel Ogden to haul iron ore from Hibernia's mines to his iron works in Old Boonton. Within this historic region, cannon balls were manufactured for use by the Continental Army during the American Revolution. 2. I recognized several of your surnames: Hendershot: I seem to "run into" the Hendershot family quite a bit; makes me think my Hamler family were friends/neighbors with the Hendershots. A Hamler married a Hendershot? My Dad's ex-wife (and my friend) was Lillian Sickels/Sickles, b. 1910, Morris County, NJ. Her father was Charles Sickels. She died in Florida in 1995 and is buried with her mother at Locust Hill Cemetery, Morris County, NJ. Her mother's name was Jennie May and she was born ca. 1891. Their children besides Lil were: 1.) Edna Sickels, b. 1906; 2.) Floyd Sickels, b. 1907; and 3.) Luella Sickels, b. 1912. After Lil and my Dad were divorced (ca. 1930), Lil married Al Schiefferstein in 1953. Al was a friend of my Dad's from Morris County, NJ; they had worked together at NJ Light and Power in the 1930's. A Mr. Hooey presides/presided over the Newton Cemetery. Sarah M. Best-- b. Sept. 1873, Morris County, NJ-- was married for a short time to my G-Uncle's son, (James) Edward Hamler. She died young but not before she got married. She died in 1895 and is buried with her parents at the Best Gravestone, Union Cemetery, Stanhope, Sussex Co., NJ. Edward (b. 1872)is buried with his second wife, Nellie A. Fisher, at Tranquility Methodist Cemetery, Sussex Co., NJ. His father was Andrew H. Hamler. 1. Re: [NJMORRIS] Morgans in Morris County
    2. *Many thanks* for the correction. The marriage record didn't indicate everything and when I looked up some of these locations on www.google.com, there seemed to be conflicting information. Like two High Bridges in two different but connecting counties! I don't know how time changes/boundary changes affected things either! My relatives seemed to live on the cusp of Warren and Sussex Counties! My GGrandparents are buried in the Tranquility Methodist Cemetery which is partially in Sussex County and partially in Warren County! I'm from Phoenix so I never heard of such weird boundary issues before! (Do you know what county Starport is in?) Kathleen In a message dated 2/10/04 2:51:36 PM US Mountain Standard Time, walpoole@goes.com writes: I don't like butting in but I do like to see errors corrected. I was born in High Bridge in 1919. It was located in Hunterdon Co at that time. It was there the last time I went to the Dutch Reformed church there recently also. Also there is a Waterloo on the Warren, Sussex county line. I believe it's in Sussex Co. When I went to school in High Bridge befor WWtwo there was a family of Morgans living in the town. Two of the sons, near my age, were Norman & Edward Morgan. 1. [NJMORRIS] FREE census lookup and MORE!!
    2. For those who may not know, you can do FREE 1880 census lookups at the LDS site, plus they have TONS more information, things that I never found on ancestry.com OR genealogy.com. I had some elusive relatives that I could never find anything for on either of my paid subscriptions, but on the LDS site I found birth records from churches for three of the children! It is an awesome resource, especially if you're at a brick wall! Just go to www.familysearch.org and click on SEARCH FOR ANCESTORS and type in your ancestor's name. Then if you find info that you need, you can usually write down the microfilm number and go to an LDS family history center (they have them all over the world and if you need to find one near you, they have the resources to do that also on the website) and order the microfilms to borrow. Good luck and happy hunting! Kerri
