I keep hoping to find someone who knows about my Drakes in Monmouth Co. My great-grandfather, Joseph Cullen Drake, was born in Monmouth co. in 1834, the son of Samuel A. Drake. The family lived for a long time in Somerset co. As an old man, Samuel Drake was living with his daughter, Susan Drake who married a John White who was a carpenter living in Monmouth co. {1880 census} I think a Jeremiah or Jerry Drake, also a carpenter, may belong to the same family.
