Hi All, A new book is just out which, although not specifically Monmouth County, contains many references to Monmouth individuals. It's fascinating to read contemporary newspaper accounts of individuals I'm researching. It certainly helps me gain a better appreciation of their lives. Here's an example (from page 517): "Nicholas Clark, Middletown Point, offers for sale a house and half acre of land about one quarter of a mile from Middletown Point from whence vessels may pass to New York in three or four hours. The house was new built last season. Also, twenty-seven and a half acres of woodland a small distance from said house," (_Jersey Chronicle_, Mount Pleasant, Saturday, December 26, 1795.) This article is especially important to my research because no deeds exist which show him as grantee for other than a half acre; he must have purchased the remaining property during the period 1760-1790 when few deeds were recorded in Monmouth County. The book is titled, _Notices From New Jersey Newspapers, 1791-1795_, and is by Thomas B. Wilson and Dorothy Agans Stratford. It's published by Hunterdon House, 38 Swan Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. It is hardcover, and is 680 pages, and contains several indices: persons, places, and subjects. It costs $45 plus shipping and tax (if you live in NJ). The book is also fascinating to read cover-to-cover! I highly recommend it! Judi in Virginia
