Hi Mary & Ken This Edward may be the one. Our Edward was the brother of Matthew Taylor who was with Carteret, settling land in New Jersey. Matthew died in 1688 & left land in Middletown, NJ to Edward. According to our info, son George inherited the family property in Middletown, while William & Joseph settled in Freehold. Naturally we began this search after moving to PA from NJ - 10 miles from Middletown! This is Bill's wife, Liz, and my family is Taylor. My grandfather was Lawrence Loyd Taylor, who died in 1943 but I have no birth date for him. Names I have heard in connection with the family include Marlpit Hall, Garrett's Hill & Taylor's Mansion House, all in Middletown, NJ Thank you for your help! All I was getting were dead ends!
