My husband noticed a small cemetery right outside Middletown South High School while he was fixing phone wire on the roof of the school. We went up today to take a better look. I noticed the main surname to be Patterson. Most of the 8 graves are pretty much unreadable. The cemetery was on the old Patterson homestead farm. Not one of the original patentees, the Pattersons were one of the original settlers. There has been much in the media about the cemetery as I believe it is suspected that 8 revolutionary wars vets are buried there. I have photographs of the few stones here: http://distantcousin.com/Cemetery/NJ/Monmouth/South/ if anyone would care to see them. --- Mari e Wright <[email protected]> wrote: > My husband noticed a small cemetery right outside Middletown South High School while he was > fixing phone wire on the roof of the school.
