Hello Friends, I seem to have missed a few emails from the list and also a reply to my post. I'm not sure if the problem is with Rootsweb or my ISP. I am researching the name PETTIT in New Jersey around 1800, they went to NYC by 1801 and by 1820 were in Cincinnati Ohio. I recently found a marriage record for John Pettit and Catherine Hays, October 13, 1799 in Monmouth NJ. This is very exciting to me as my ancestors were John and Catherine Pettit and he was born in NJ; their child was born in 1801. Researching in this area is new to me; I would appreciate any help in what records are available or good books on the history of the area. Thank you very much. Stephanie Miller
