An interesting article appeared in the issue of 10 March on the front page regarding Ernest W. EMMONS. It begins as follows: "HUSBAND MISSING FOR SEVEN YEARS Is Legally Dead and Mrs. Em- mons Asks Court to Settle Up His Estate Mrs. Sallie W. Emmons of Long Branch, whose husband Ernest W. Emmons has been missing for seven years, has applied to the surrogate's court to settle up his estate. In the eyes of the law, Mr. Emmons is dead, no news of him having been had in New Jersey, even tho he may be living in the far west..."
