I Stacy Potts of Trenton in the County of Hunterdon and States of New Jersey being no in perfect health and of sound mind yet knowing that it is appointed for all men to die and however uncertain the time may be at this advanced stage of my life the final period thereof cannot be far distant thereforest becomes prudent for me by this my last Will and Testament to direct the manner in which I defire the Property to be distributedwhich I may pofefs at the time of my deceafe. First my will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my Executor hereafter named And if my wife should survive me I give an disrseto? her and to her Heirs and afsigns all my houfehold goods and furniture and for her subfistance and comfortable accomodation during her natural life I grantoto her ufe the resputive dividends made every dix months on one hundred and fifty shairs of Bank Stock originally by me subfcribed to the State Bank in Trenton whereof thirty dollars on each shair has been paid and for which sums the respective dividends are made and I alfo give her the ufe of my Riding Chair Harnis and Horfe now kept by John Potts to be ufed by him for his keeping when neither myself or wife have occafion for his services to be for her during life as afoufaid all which bequests are on the exprefs condition that she my said wife shall and do releaf all claim and right of Dower out of my Estate or any part therof But if she should refufe to accept of the ab! oe grant and bequest in him of her right of Dower and all other claims & Demands on my property of any kind whatsoever the whole of the above gifts grant and bequest shall becom abfolutely void and of no effect any thing herein contained notwithftanding.And as my oldest son William Potts has been so unfortunate as to loofe the principle part of his property and appears not to be so happy in preferving it as my other Children I think it necefsary to secure to him and his family the ufe of what I may bequesth to them therefore I give and devife to their ufe the Houfe and lot wherein he now dwells and for further surity have conveyed it to George Sherman in truft for the safe ufe of the family their Heirs & Afsigns.And I alfo give and sevife to the ufe of my said son his wife and children after the deceafe of my wife the shairs of Bank Stock of the State Bank in Trenton the dividends of which is divifed to the ufe of my during her life after which the said stock to be divided! eaqually between the Children of my said son William Potts when the P arents have done with it & and to their Heirs and afsigns forever.And all the refidue of my Estate of what kindsoever not otherwife dispofed of by deed or grant to my Children during my life to be eually divided among my five Children towit my tree sons William, Stacy and Jofeph and my Daughters Anna and Rebecca and their Heirs refrectively and their Afsigns.Lastly I do hereby confthate and appoint my son Stacy Potts Jr. the only Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last will and Testament this nineteeth Day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.Signed sealed publifhed and declared to be my last Will and Testament.
