I have hit a dead end tracing my ancestor John Flanagan back to Ireland. According to our oral family history, he is from County Mayo. I have the following info from the 1900 Neptune, Monmouth, New Jersey Census. John Flanagan b. October 1850 in Ireland m. 1878 to Mary A (Kelsey) b. June 1858 in New Jersey (Parents born in Ireland) Children: They had 12, only 8 were living in 1900 John H b. April 1882 in NY Frank Leo b. Oct 1883 in NJ (eventually married Nina Cadwalder Waite of DC) William b. Dec. 1888 in NJ Catherine C. b. Feb 1887 in NJ Anna b. Aug 1889 in NJ Nellie b. Jan 1892 in NJ Joseph b. Feb 1896 in NJ Elizabeth b. April 1899 in NJ I would be forever grateful if anybody had more information on John, or any of these relatives for that matter.
