When I first viewed the Corlies family tree info in early NJ, I found Herbert/Harberts and assumed that the English pronounce the name Herbert like HARBERT, which is true of Berkeley (Barkley) and Hereford (Harford). I think it may be a source of confusion. We have a dozen or so Herbert/Harberts in our tree and didn't see any Corlies in your posted listing. The earliest is Walter Herbert Jr born 1/25/1701 in Shrewsbury who married Deborah Corlies, daughter of George Corlies and his second wife, Deborah Hance. As a Jr. it presupposes a Walter, who didn;t appear in your posting. The earliest Harbert, is Jonathan Harbert, born 10/19/1739 in Middletown, NJ. He married Elizabeth Corlies, granddtr of George, and dtr of Jacob Corlies and Sarah White (dtr of Peter White and Abigail Lippincott). Because Corlies were not proprietors or of illustrious background, perhaps they were omitted from Herbert Memorial; but George Corlies married Shattock and Hance, and his children married Allens, Whites, Wests, Lippincotts and Herberts. Many sibling marriages too within those listed. There are more, including children of above. Contact me if interested and I will share what I have. Having a heck of a time getting Reunion to create out the Family Sheets that come so easy off of FTM and are easy to cut and paste. Thus far, I have to create an Internet file then paste off of it..... COUSIN LANCE (Lance Beeson)
