    3. Thank you, Susan Amicucci, for your contribution to the James Morris story - he is an ancestor of mine. I'm glad to see another person who's come across the Edward Raser article on the Battle of Navesink. I grew up in the area (in Shrewsbury) and I'm curious if you, Susan, or anyone else has an idea of exactly where this skirmish took place. I'm related to James Morris through his daughter Mary Elizabeth Morris (1813-1904) who married Obadiah Stillwell Davis (1811-1881), in the Navesink area of Middletown. Their daughter Charlotte Davis (1837-1899) married Charles Adolphus Irwin (1838-1891) a wheelwright in Navesink. Their daughter Carrie (1858-1910) married Joseph Maxson (1847-1911) of Navesink. Has anyone ever made a connection between this Davis family in Navesink (Obadiah S. Davis's parents were John Davis and Rebecca Stillwell) and any Seventh Day Baptist Davis's of Shrewsbury who did NOT go to West Virginia. Jay Czarnecki jczarnecki@home.com
