    3. With the help of some of you good NJ researchers I am making progress on finding the father of my Daniel Taylor (b. 1758) somewhere in NJ. I could use some help on defining the county formations in this period of expansion ( mid to late 1700's). I have found records that say Hunterdon Twp and some that say Hunterdon County and some with Monmouth Co. I realize that there are probably Hunterdon Twp's in both. Having experienced this in VA on another line, I remember thinking my ancestors moved around a lot, but actually it was the counties being divided over time. I have some leads in Colt's Neck, Freehold, and Middletown, which all appear today to be in Monmouth Co. These would all be prior to 1758. I am assuming that Hunterdon Co. might have been formed later since it is further west. Any help or directions to resources would be appreciated.
