I recently visited the US Archives & obtained copies of the Rev. War pension files of John Poland (1754-1823) & Samuel Bennett (b. around 1758). John Poland married Sarah Smock Bennett & their children were Peter B., Catherine (married a Wainwright), Garret, John B. William, Samuel, James H., Gisbert Longstreet, Barnes B., & Cornelius V. Poland. It is an interesting pension file with pertinent family information & anyone related to this family can email me for details or a transcribed copy (I'll try sending via email). My family link is thru Peter Bennett Poland who married Mary Lester Layton & their daughter Sarah Ann Poland who married Daniel Brown. Samuel Bennett's Rev. War pension file included his service record & mentions his wife Phebe, son Nehemiah Bennett, grandsons Samuel & William.
