I am a descendant of Sylvanus Morris. Sylvanus was born in NJ about 1778. The only candidate, I have found, was a reference to Sylvanus Morris in the 1824 will of John Morris of Middletown, Monmouth Co., NJ. He bequests clothing and money to Sylvanus and Samuel who are not residents of Monmouth Co. My Sylvanus lived in Newtown, Queens Co., NY and was associated with Samuel Morris of Newtown. Sylvanus married Jane Rapelye about 1804 and Samuel married Hester Remsen in Newtown soon after. I have not found that proof of the connection between Sylvanus and Samuel Morris to Monmouth Co., NJ Any help would be greatly appreciated.
