I am interested in the Dutch reformed settlers in Monmouth Co. because my ancestor Sylvanus Morris and his brother Samuel left Monmouth Co. for Newtown, Queens Co., NY about 1800. They both married descendants of the early Dutch settlers of the county. Sylvanus maried Jane Rapelye, and Samuel married Hester Remsen. I often wondered if the connection to these 2 woman may have come through Monmouth Co. families. Sylvanus and Samuel were Presbyterians who readily accepted the Reformed Church in the early 1800's.
