Hi, Frank, I checked a bit further and Wm. H. remained in Ocean Township for the 1880 census, but it appears Joseph Nuding may have been on wife #2 by then and in Shrewsbury Twp. The first names for wife and ages are different on the 1870 and 1880. The 1870 lists 4 children also. Do you have, or do you want, the info from the 1870? I checked the 1860 and Wm. H. was in Ocean Twp. then also. You might need to check NY for the 1860 census - didn't find Joseph anywhere in Monmouth County for that one. 1870 listed a 9 year old born in NY but a 13 year old born in NJ. If you can locate City Directories for the timeframe, it might give you an indication if they worked together or one for the other.
