Have a great time Pat!! Terri
My take is that he was a product of his time. Historical and genealogical reporting has changed greatly over the years. Don't judge Hornor's style by what you now know. The sun is shining every day, clouds never get in the way......Right and the earth is flat! I finally do have a bit of sunshine which meant the parade and ceremony honoring those who served in the armed forces wasn't soggy for a change. The sun is what made me think of vacation! Vacation, you know that thing where you get in/on a car, train, boat, motorcycle, RV or airplane and go away from where you normally reside for an extended period of time...the trip I'm leaving on Wednesday at the crack of dawn. When leaving on vacation stop the milk, mail, paper, etc. and PLEASE remember to unsubscribe from your Rootsweb mailing lists unless you will have daily access to your email. If you can't remember which lists you are subscribed to just go to: http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ and you can retrieve a list of mailing lists to which you are currently subscribed. Also auto replies have NO place on a mailing list and if you are using your work email address for subscriptions make doubly sure you have unsubscribed from the lists before you go. It's relatively simple to resubscribe when you return. I really appreciate your continued cooperation. Have a safe and fun summer! Pat Mount List Admin
Randall, I'd love to hear more details of how and why Horner is a biased jerk. Does anyone else have an opinion about him? Anyone else think he's biased? Give me examples. go to the Allentown public library and they have an excellent resource library. it is located on 8 south main st. allentown nj 08501. If you should need to call, it is a 609 exchange for whatever reason even tho its a monmouth county library. While there, plan to have a wonderful lunch at Woodys across the street-the BLT on woody roll is divine. Linda

I am no expert, but my recollection of Horner is that he is a biased jerk. I should take another look at him. It has been so many years. Those with extensive interests in NJ biography are advised to secure a copy of Donald Sinclair's "A New Jersey Biographical Index", which indexes the contents of many collective biographical sources by subject name. It was published by Genealogical Publishing in 1993. The History Quest search engine is particularly helpful as it will secure references to individuals mentioned in the biographical entries of others. It also accesses books about other states that reference New Jerseyeans. Randall Gabrielan
FYI-- if you have access to Heritage Quest [online], either through subscription or through your local public library [like mine - yea!!], then you can download many books like this in pdf format. there is a 50 page download limit, but if you're patient and stick to it, it isn't that big of a deal. [meaning you have to do a few downloads to acquire a 250pg book.] I've found a few 'out of print' books and even one I'd rented from FHC & tried to transcribe... already there as a pdf. the price of FREE always works for me! haven't been there in a while, so not sure which NJ books they have, but I've snagged most of what I didn't already own.

Greetings All: I would be interested in someone's description of the book especially as it might relate to the year it was published. If that is not available, what time period might the book cover and what county or counties it might include. Ken > Hello. Does anyone have a copy of Hornor?
