Hi Cousin Bob in Texas, Miss chatting with you. Going to Belmar this weekend for a Brand wedding. My cousin through the White/Goslin lines. Not looking forward to the traffic Memorial Day at the Shore. Reception at the Ol Campbell-Evans (that should bring a few grins!) now known as The Barclay on Silver Lake. Our Bennett's once owned the shore of Silver Lake. Love going over the old deeds. Cuz Jackie
Jonathan Page (mentioned below) was also a shoemaker by trade. He married Rebecca Budd (d/o Levi Budd and Mary Woolston) in 1799. It is possible that they were in business together if neighbors (see below) . Jonathan's parents were Joseph Page and Margret "Ann" ROBINS. (she was the daughter of Samuel Robins and Margaret PAGE). Joseph moved to Connellsville, Fayette Co, PA in 1800 and shortly after his children and their families followed. Joseph Page also had several land deeds associated with Tobias Hendrickson (he married Rebecca Coward) I have some of those deeds posted at http://pages.prodigy.net/mapage/homepage/index.htm Here is a list taken from Ellis' History Book which also might be helpful PAGE and ROBINS Listed in Taxables, Upper Freehold Twp., October 1758 Page, Joseph Robins, Elizabeth (widow) - 50 acres Robins, Moses - 53 acres Robins, Samuel - 180 acres Robins, Ephraim - 11 acres Robins, Daniel A. (town) - 3.5 acres Robins, Daniel - 300 acres Robins, John - 19 acres Robins, Joseph (small still) - 400 acres Robbins, Thomas Robins, Moses Jr. - 100 acres Robins, Jacob - 100 acres Robins, Joseph Jr. ----- Original Message ----- From: <der@redrose.net> To: <NJMONMOU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 21, 2000 11:41 PM Subject: [NJMONMOU] ROBBINS, PRIMMER, HENDRICKSON, SILLS, DAY, NEIVEL, WYCKOFF, HERBERT, GREGORY, CLAYTON, etc. > In my quest to find the parentage of my John GREGORY and Sarah > ROBBINS, his wife (married ca 1785) I have been trying to leave no > stone unturned. What happened to the print size? Hope I am not the only one having difficulty reading this edition? Mary in Delaware
Volunteers and potential volunteers, I know it has been a long silence but, I finally got my order of 1910 census CD's from Heritage Quest a couple days ago. I was told they were held up for a month because the machine they were using to clean up the images was down, so they weren't ready. Then when they sent my order recently, they didn't realize that I had ordered multiple copies, and only sent one. So I had to wait to get that straightened out and the whole order is finally here. The images look pretty good, but I have not started my transcription yet. You can zoom in and out and reverse negative to positive which sometimes helps with light images and lots of other features. So if you all ready requested a donor/loaner CD or would like to request a CD to work from for the transcription I will send them. Of course I will need smail addresses for all volunteers that I don't all ready have them for. If you don't want to send the address on email, write to me at Anita Clayton 275 Chestnut Neck Rd. Port Republic, NJ 08241. (609-652-0398) For those who sent donations thank you for your generosity. If you still want to donate $ for donor/loaner CDs and/or other expenses or if you would like to volunteer to transcribe, we still have needs. I will send the list of EDs as assigned so far separately so as not to make this too long. If you are receiving a donated CD to use we will need them back at some point to pass on for others to use. Some volunteers have purchased their own, either on their own or through me and of course will keep them. I have Sharon's and Linda's addresses and will mail theirs off. There a few who asked for CD's for whom I don't have addresses - Debbie Price and Julie Baechle. Some who I am not clear if they are planning to use the donated CD's or not -Esther Wright, Carolyn Johnson, Candy B, Richard, Rick, and maybe others. If I missed your request please write to me. I have plenty of blank 1910 census forms from the LDS Family History Center which I can mail to volunteers. They come in packs of 25, double sided, for a total of 34 names per paper. You will need them to transcribe onto from the films or CD's. The information from the forms will be entered into a computer program either by you or a typing volunteer. Then we will proof read, which I will not get into details for now. I need to make an accounting of the money I have received - 20.00 from Linda for a CD for her use and 5.05 donation (will use on postage /copying /forms) 44.85 from Sharon for 2 CD's for her use & a donation of 14.95 for a donor/loaner CD 30.00 from Pat for 2 donor/loaner CD's (and .10 change to postage /copying /forms) 59.80 from Anita for 2 CD's for own use & 2 donor/loaners CD's total $154.65 (149.50 for 10 CD's @ $14.95 each and 5.15 toward postage /copying forms) We still need more money and volunteers. Thanks to all who have send donations and are volunteering, you are the greatest! Anita rclaytonsr@juno.com
Volunteers and potential volunteers, Here is the updated list of assigned ED's for our 1910 census transcription project. We still need many volunteers to get this done in a reasonable amount of time. We have about half of the EDs assigned. We have some doner/loaner CD's for volunteers to work with. You can choose just one ED if you like. Don't be afraid of not being able to read the writing. There will be plenty of us with CDs or film access for you to ask for advice and opinions. And remember prayer always works. :-) Here are the ED assignments, see my other post for today for other information. FHLC film no. 1,374,913 Nat. Hello fellow Rooters, does anyone have any info on the following?? Althea JACKSON...spouse of Matthew JACKSON (b. 1900, d. 1933) They had two children, one who died in 1924, and a daughter who survived. No one is alive in my family who knows where Althea JACKSON (and their daughter) came from or went to after Matthew JACKSON died at the age of 33. Matthew JACKSON was the son of Julius and Delia (Cahill/Foy) JACKSON. Julius JACKSON reportedly worked for the City of Asbury Park and Julius died in 1908. Can anyone help with this one? Thanks muchly, Catherine

Hi Rhonda, No sorry I don't have anything on your Mary Elizabeth. Mine married Moses Leming/Lemon/Lemmonin the mid 1850's. They lived in Ocean Co. NJ. On her death record it has her parents as William C Havens and Sarah. I do know there is a conncetion to Marion Ind. I have an old photo of William C. Havens and on the bottom it has Hartstock and Marion Ind. on it. He is an elderly man in the photo. Sorry I couldn't be of help. Hi. Found your message on the NJMonmouth rootsweb list. I have an Elizabeth (Eliza) HAVENS married James A. HAMAR, Jr. in Boone County, Indiana, April 25, 1875. The reason I am curious about this is because James A. HAMAR, Sr. enlisted in the Rev. War from Monmouth County (Colt's Neck) New Jersey, and I haven't been able to find another thing about him. Then his son marries someone from there. Perhaps they knew each other? Anyway -- if you have any information that may shed some light on this situation, I would be delighted. Thanks. Rhonda
Hi Laurie, Have you seen any info relating to marriage between the McQueen/LaFetra families in the Monmouth County area in the middle to late 1700? One I have is George McQueen marrying Sarah LaFetra but I have no further info. Best regards. Bob Flynn
When I first viewed the Corlies family tree info in early NJ, I found Herbert/Harberts and assumed that the English pronounce the name Herbert like HARBERT, which is true of Berkeley (Barkley) and Hereford (Harford). I think it may be a source of confusion. We have a dozen or so Herbert/Harberts in our tree and didn't see any Corlies in your posted listing. The earliest is Walter Herbert Jr born 1/25/1701 in Shrewsbury who married Deborah Corlies, daughter of George Corlies and his second wife, Deborah Hance. As a Jr. it presupposes a Walter, who didn;t appear in your posting. The earliest Harbert, is Jonathan Harbert, born 10/19/1739 in Middletown, NJ. He married Elizabeth Corlies, granddtr of George, and dtr of Jacob Corlies and Sarah White (dtr of Peter White and Abigail Lippincott). Because Corlies were not proprietors or of illustrious background, perhaps they were omitted from Herbert Memorial; but George Corlies married Shattock and Hance, and his children married Allens, Whites, Wests, Lippincotts and Herberts. Many sibling marriages too within those listed. There are more, including children of above. Contact me if interested and I will share what I have. Having a heck of a time getting Reunion to create out the Family Sheets that come so easy off of FTM and are easy to cut and paste. The Herberts of Wickatunk, New Jersey, are "descended from Sir Philip Herbert, 4th Earl of Pembroke. Francis Herbert, the first representative of that name in New Jersey was a grandson of Sir Philip Herbert and with thirty associates, came from Long Island in 1677 and settled in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He married, according to Honorable John W Herbert of New York in 1904, Hannah Bowne, daughter of the celebrated Quaker, John Bowne, who located on Long Island in 1659." The name Winfield used as a first name popped out at me as we have the same thing in our Huggins lot. Does anyone know the origin of it? Do your Whites have any Burlington County connection?
