I just realized that when my computer died a few months ago, I lost some url sites. Among them is the one for Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Neptune. Could anyone help me? Marie Wright
For those of you interested in the Applegate Surname, I found this website by accident: http://www2.vcn.com/netizens/applegatej/afa-05e.htm
I don't know if anyone is aware of this yet, but Ancestry.com has a civil war database free for 10 days. It has some great information in it! ============================================================ CIVIL WAR PENSION INDEX (IMAGES ONLINE) More than 2.5 million original American Civil War pension index cards are the first available images in Ancestry.com's new Images Online project. (For more information on the Images Online Project see, http://www.ancestry.com/library/view/news/articles/1931.asp.) Each Civil War pension card--a record of a veteran's application for federal support--records the veteran's name and the state in which the application was received. (Because these pension files were for federal benefits, this collection only contains the names of Union veterans.) If a widow or a child filed the application, his or her name and relevant information is included. Until now, the pension cards were only available through microfilm copies contained at the National Archives and limited repositories. Ancestry's existing Civil War Pension Index contains a link to a digitized image of the index card itself. This image will contain additional information on the individual, such as unit of service, date of filing and application, and certificate numbers for the pension case file (which often contains additional pages of individual information) housed at the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington, D.C. Going beyond the detail of indexes and information summaries, the online images are an added source for information on Civil War ancestors. Source Information: National Archives and Records Administration. "Civil War Pension Index." [database online] Provo, UT: Ancestry.com, 2000. Data indexed and imaged from: National Archives and Records Administration. "General Index to Pension Files, 1861-1934." T288, 544 rolls. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration. Thanks. Nice site. However, I could not click on the image and get a larger one, nor could I go to page 2, etc. Must be having problems with the way it is set up. I hope to be able to print out the whole thing so I can mail it to a friend who is a resident of Highlands but non-computer literate. Marie Wright

Is there any information about the Cemeteries at (former)Marlboro State Hospital? Yes, I am aware that it is no longer a state hospital, but the 3 cemeteries in and adjacent to the property clearly show on maps of the hospital grounds and I assume have not been abandoned. Patients at the hospital could have been buried in the cemetery and I'd like to find about more about transcriptions, etc. Thank you. Mary C. in San Diego
Is anyone doing what you are doing for Monmouth County, Shrewsbury Twp.? Would like to see any census information for Pearce family of the area, from 1700- 1800's. Thanks for your help. Ken Wiltz Family Historian for the Pearce and Wiltz families.

Independence Day is not a celebration of what's wrong with society, but is for the hope of freedom, liberty and happiness of the future. If you don't believe this is the land of freedom and opportunity why do you think so many others wish to come to the U.S.? I think it is time to let it go and begin a new , and above all stop using it as an excuse for ones behaviour, it is getting very old. If everyone would take the attitude as this and I do practice what I am preaching, I do not look at some one regardless of their social standing any more important then myself or any less important, I do not look at any one of a different nationality any different then myself, then or now.
