    3. Hello folks: Just a reminder! In addition to the NJMONMOUTH GenWeb page, there is another resource for Monmouth Co. that you may have forgotten about and that's the Resource cluster at Rootsweb. The url is below. http://resources.rootsweb.com/USA/NJ/Monmouth/ Part of that cluster is a full suite of GenConnect Boards. It's a great place to post questions as well as a spot to enter wills, deeds, bible records, obits and bios. It's simple to use, free and permanently archived. We all have (or we should have) some of this information in our genealogy programs. That information could prove useful to many others...if only they could find it! There are over 300 of us on the list. If each of us only posted one (1) item to the appropriate board think of the database we'd have started!!! Don't wait! Just DO it! Now! If you have been a lurker on this list...one of those folks who "hide in the bushes" and never post, how about letting the rest of us know who or what is your Monmouth County "Most Wanted". Someone might just have an answer for you! To unsubscribe from the list: Email (from the same address you used to subscribe) NJMONMOU-L-request@rootsweb.com (for list mode) NJMONMOU-D-request@rootsweb.com (for digest mode) Put only the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the BODY You should receive a confirmation that you've been removed. Thanks for your attention. Pat Mount

    2. Hi Pat: Read your note about the Genconnect Board. Does this compete with the USGENWEB Archives Project? How do we decide where to post a will, deed, etc.? Laura

    3. Thanks for the question!! The Bucks co USGW site is a good one to look at. Also in the PA USGW archives for Bucks co, the Davis History is coming on line. Pretty much concentrates on the early families, but there are several mentions of Monmouth Co names... http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/pafiles.htm then go to Bucks. Look under Area/Local History..... OR while you are on the state page. Do a search for the surname you are interested in. The county search engine has been down for a while..... think it is back on line, but would suggest trying the state wide search engine. In the PA USGW archives there are over 170 Megs of data.... NJ has about 20. NjFamilyGEMS@aol.com wrote: > Have been searching for Calbin Ridgeway who left Monmouth Co. in early 1800s > for "western waters." Maybe he only got as far as Morrisville. I wonder if it could be Hazel. Give her my maiden name if it is. I would love to call her. Peggy, Billy's sister, and Hazel's daughter was my pal before 5 yrs. old. I think Hazel (Carty) Dunfee was born 1902 or 3 so I think it is Betty who comes to church. I will be interested to hear. I loved Frances Stines Bloodgood. Such fun. She was close to Mrs. Lisk, when I would go there often. About the Giffords..... Rae and I use to babysit Marian Curtis McKelvey's 4 girls.... in the garage apartment on Finley. I use to be at the Giffords alot. Stanley, Bobbie, Vivian. The grandfather was adorable. He reminded me of the wood sculpture of the Sea Captain, with his cap, and pipe, remember? Dot Gifford was a Polhemus. Her sister was Ruth and some how they were related to Pop (Hershal) Polhemus. Pop had a son Marvin. He fixed radios and had a daughter Mary who went to Belmar School with me. Maybe Dot and her sister Ruth (who married a Hall) were sisters to Marvin. We will have this whole town related. I have thought of doing West Belmar house by house and family by family. I think Bob White has started something like that. He said the wedding was nice last Sat for Robin. More late... this is such fun... ALMOST as good as being home again. Jackie

Lisa grew up in the Giffords house next to my grandmother's on H and Finley which now everyone calls Highway 71 and East Curtis. My Aunt and Uncle bought the house from the Giffords. Actually Uncle Theo is one of Earl's brothers so the house just stayed in the family. I will tell her you were asking for her if I see her in church Sunday. Maybe I can get her address. She looks great. I thought she was only in her 60's till she put her birthday pennies in. Speaking of looking great. You should see Fran Bloodgood. She hasn't changed since we were kids. Still looks the same, not a gray hair, nor an ounce of fat, nor a wrinkle. She plays the piano every Sunday morning. I keep wondering how I grew up not knowing she could play the piano. She and her husband live in her parents house (Earl Stines) on 17th Ave. She walks to church every week. She is in her 80s too. She and Mom used to walk Chettie (her son) and I together. She is amazing. Joyce
